Hey Family,
I hope you are all doing well! I want to follow up with everyone and thank you all for your sacrifices, teamwork and cooperation for our 60th Annual C. T. Roddey Family Reunion. We had such a blessed time, and the spirit of love and family was unquestionably manifested and exhibited throughout the entire weekend! However, we know it took everyone's sacrifices to make the reunion a success. For those who traveled for hours by car, train or airplane to make it to "God's Country", Catawba, SC, we know that was a sacrifice, but we hope it was worth it!!! Not to be too corny, but there would be no reunion with "u"! It was so good seeing each of you.
Moreover, we are so grateful to those that have sacrificed throughout the year to plan for the reunion, poured out their hearts, time, money, energy, etc. in hopes that everyone would have a great time and experience the love of family at our C. T. Roddey Family Reunion. Thank you Iris Talford for stepping up and taking on the challenge of pulling the reunion together. You did an awesome job! I also want to give a special thanks to Aunt Margie and Uncle Raymond for being the glue to keeping our family moving forward through the year!!! No matter what task, dilemma, or situation we've faced this year, you have been there and given so much of yourselves without a lot of fanfare!
One action that the family needs to act on is organizing our Structural/Building and Grounds Committee. We decided at our reunion family meeting that this committee will do the research and come up with our game plan to tackle the structural and beautification improvements to our reunion center. We ask God's blessings in advance on this committee and each person that feels compelled to lead the family in this capacity.
Our next exciting family event will be cousin Catrina Reese's 25th Anniversary in the Ministry and New Single Release "Takeover" Celebration, held Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm. The venue will be the Johnson Mansion, 1800 Queens Rd, Charlotte, NC 28274 in the amazing Myers Park neighborhood. We are so proud of Trina and excited about what God is doing in her ministry. She is also using her ministry to give back. The proceeds from the event will go to the C. T. Roddey Reunion Center and also the Expected End Ministries Charlotte Women's Transitional House. In addition to Trina's awesome and talented music ministry, there will be special guests, live music and food. The family is asked to come out and support this awesome event. Volunteers will be needed as well.
Since this event falls on the fourth Saturday this month, we will schedule our September family meeting for the third Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11 am. At our meeting we will recap the reunion - what worked and what we can improve on. We will also talk about how we can help with Trina's celebration and other important family topics. We hope to see you then!
In addition, be looking out for more information regarding a Roddey Family Yard Sale fundraiser potentially in early October. Teresa Hill has agreed to spearhead this effort. If you are in the Rock Hill and Charlotte area and have gently used clothing and household items that you were thinking of giving away, please consider possibly donating them for this event.
Lastly, please send in your family dues if you have not done so for the year and consider making pledge donations to help with our reunion center repairs and projects . We will have our insurance and tax payments due before the end of the year, and in the meantime we want to continue to build our financial standing.
