October Family Update

Hello Family,

I hope this communication finds you all well.  I wanted to give you a quick family update.

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, we were blessed to be a part of cousin Catrina Reese's 25th Anniversary in the Ministry Celebration and Benefit Concert.  In spite of the soggy weather, which caused the venue to change just days before the event, everyone in attendance was in store for a real treat.  There were talented special guests and friends in the ministry that traveled from Florida, Georgia and South Carolina to celebrate with Trina and bless the audience through their liturgical praise and worship, comedy, musical and vocal talents.  The proceeds from the event were split with the C. T. Roddey Reunion Center and the Expected End Ministries Charlotte Women's Transitional House.  Thanks so much Trina!  May God bless you to have 25+ more years in ministry!

If you are in the Rock Hill and Charlotte area and have gently used clothing and household items that you were thinking of giving away, please contact cousin Teresa Hill at (704) 287-9792 or teresakelly224@hotmail.com, if you would like to participate in a Roddey Family Yard Sale.  We would like to determine the interest before scheduling this family fundraiser.

Several months prior to our August, 2015 Family Reunion, we reached out to the White House for a special greeting from President Obama to commemorate our 60th C. T. Roddey Family Reunion.  The greeting did not come prior to our reunion but we are pleased to inform you that we received the above commendation from the President in the mail this week.  This historical document will proudly be framed and hung on the wall at our reunion center for all to see.

In addition, please continue to send in your family dues if you have not done so for the year, and consider making pledge donations to help with our reunion center repairs and projects .  We will have our insurance and tax payments due before the end of the year, and in the meantime we want to continue to build our financial standing. If paying your dues the traditional way through the USPS, send checks to PO Box 38502, Charlotte, NC 28278.  Also, in case you did not know, you can now conveniently pay your family dues online by going to our website www.ctroddeyreunion.org.  Just go to the Donate tab, select the Donate button and enter the amount of your payment.  You can pay by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or PayPal Account. Thanks for all that you do to help sustain our family legacy!  Please act now...We can continue to make progress if everyone works together.

Our current financial balance as of 10/10/2015 was $8639.18.  The Reunion Deposits were $4130.00 and Reunion Expenses were $1302.21.

Please keep Shiree Briscoe, Dorian, Dalin and Jordan Howze in your prayers during their time of bereavement. The celebration of life service for Tyrone C. Howze will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Gabriel's Church (26 Grant Circle NW, Washington, DC 20011).  Visting hours with the family will be from 11:00-11:30 am and the service will begin between 11:30-11:45 am.  The repast service will take place afterwards at the The Davis Center, 6218 3rd Street NW, Washington , DC.

Remember our family meetings are scheduled for the 4th Saturday each month at 11 am.  The next meeting should be Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11 am at the C. T. Roddey Reunion Center.
